City Bank and UNICEF Partner under Skills4Youth: Empowering Marginalized Youth with Green Skills

City Bank has partnered with UNICEF to empower marginalized adolescents and young people, particularly girls with green and entrepreneurship skills that pave the way for sustainable livelihoods and financial independence.

Through the project Skills4Youth, 1,000 young people, especially girls and young women from climate-vulnerable districts like Bagerhat, will gain access to market-relevant training, career coaching, and pathways to apprenticeships and employment with local enterprises. The program emphasizes practical and inclusive learning opportunities, helping youth—particularly those most at risk of being left behind—build sustainable livelihoods and resilient communities.

In Bangladesh, young people, particularly girls often face challenges in continuing their education or finding decent work, limiting their potential for growth and independence. In alignment with City Bank’s CSR focus on women and youth empowerment, this partnership reflects the Bank’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development and to its vision of becoming the growth partner of Bangladesh.
