City Bank Partners with Bangladesh Economics Olympiad to Foster Youth Empowerment and Financial Literacy
City Bank has partnered with the Bangladesh Economics Olympiad (BDEO) — an annual national competition that inspires high school students to think critically and creatively about Economics, Business, and Financial Literacy.
Since its inception in 2019, BDEO has empowered over 25 million students across Bangladesh, offering a dynamic platform to promote financial literacy, youth empowerment, and national development. Through engaging competitions and mentorship, it encourages young minds to explore real-world economic challenges and develop problem-solving skills essential for the future.
BDEO is in long-term partnership with the International Economics Olympiad (IEO), Switzerland — one of the fastest-growing global youth platforms co-founded by Nobel Laureate Professor Eric Maskin and supported by advisors including Nobel Laureate Professor Daron Acemoglu.
This year, the top 5 winners of the Bangladesh Economics Olympiad proudly represented the nation at the 8th International Economics Olympiad held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Among the 60 global teams, Bangladesh ranked 26th and emerged among the Top 3 teams in South Asia. Furthermore four of the five participants secured bronze medals.
Through this collaboration, City Bank reaffirms its commitment to empowering youth and advancing financial literacy, nurturing the next generation of thinkers, innovators, and leaders for a more financially informed Bangladesh.
