Answer: Google Wallet is a digital storage solution where user can securely store your bank cards, transit passes, and more. Its primary function is to store data — not to make payments directly.
Answer: Google Pay is a payment service that allows user to complete transactions using Google’s ecosystem. It works across various Google services such as the Play Store, Wallet, and more.
Answer: There is no separate app called "Google Pay” available in Bangladesh. The cards stored in Google Wallet are used to make payments via Google Pay. In this way, Wallet and Pay complement each other — one stores your cards, and the other facilitates payment using those cards.
Answer: City Bank All Visa and MasterCard (Debit, Credit and Prepaid cards) can be added to Google Wallet.
Answer: Currently, only payment services at POS machines that are supported NFC wallet transactions.

- Open the Google Wallet app on your Android device.

Answer: Yes, you can add multiple City Bank MasterCard and Visa credit or debit cards to Google Wallet. Simply follow the “Add to Wallet” steps for each card. You can choose a default card anytime.
Note: All contactless payments will be made from the card set as the default.
Answer: The default card is the one used automatically for contactless payments (tap-to-pay) at NFC wallet transaction enabled POS machines.
To set a default card in Google Wallet:
- Open the Google Wallet app.
- Tap on the card you want to set as default.
- Tap "Details" or the three-dot menu (â‹®).
- Select "Set as default for tap to pay."
To remove a default card:
You cannot remove a default card without first assigning another card as default. To do this:
- Add another card to your wallet (if not already added).
- Set the new card as default using the steps above.
- Then tap on the previous card > tap the three-dot menu (â‹®) > select "Remove payment method."
Answer: Yes, you can your MasterCard and Visa cards in multiple to Google Wallet.
Answer: Yes. Google Wallet uses tokenization, meaning your actual card number is never shared with the merchant. Additionally, your phone’s security features (e.g., screen lock or biometrics) help ensure only you can authorize purchases.
Answer: Yes, for security reasons, the phone must be unlocked using a screen lock (PIN, fingerprint, or pattern) before payment can be made.
Answer: No, Internet connection is not required to pay at Store.
Answer: As per Bangladesh Bank regulations, NFC transactions above BDT 5,000 will require the PIN to be entered at the POS terminal.

Answer: Currently, City Bank Visa and Mastercard cards added to Google Wallet can be used for in-store (POS) contactless payments only. Online and in-app usage support will be communicated if enabled in future.

Answer: No. City Bank does not charge any fee for enabling or using your card through Google Wallet. Standard card fees and interest (if applicable) remain unchanged.
Answer: Yes. Open the Google Wallet app → Select your card → Tap the three-dot menu → Choose Remove.

- Select the old/expired card.
- Tap the three-dot menu (or “More” option) and choose Remove Payment Method (or a similar option).
- Add your new card by tapping Add to Wallet and following the prompts.

- Lost or Stolen Card: Once you report your card lost/stolen and receive a new City Bank card, you must add this new card to Google Wallet. The old card is no longer valid, so you should remove it from your Google Wallet app.
- Damaged Card: If you requested a replacement due to damage, follow the same steps—remove the old card from Google Wallet and add the new card once you receive it.
